Facilities

Our facilities sit on 25 acres in Essex and include 2 barns, 7 large paddocks with large shelters with 24 hour access to hay, 5 multi-acre paddock accessible grass pastures, indoor riding arena (built in 2016), an outdoor hunter derby riding arena (currently under construction for the 2023 season), with many jumps available for training. Our facility continues to grow in amenities each year.

Our indoor arena is equipped with a fibre stabilizer/sand base to improve the stability of footing surface allowing a horse to work more ‘on top’ of the surface rather than ‘into’ it, tracking and general surface displacement will be reduced and your horse is less likely to suffer from sore shins or shoulders due to concussion.

Full Service Boarding

Sand Cherry Stables is a 25 Acre Horse Farm located in the beautiful town of Essex in Ontario, Canada (about 30 minutes from the Detroit/Windsor border crossing). 

 

We offer full service indoor and outdoor boarding including:

• Daily feeding programs 

• Additional feed (grain) and supplements for horses with specific needs is available at an additional cost.

• Oversized stalls and stall care for indoor boarding

• Daily turn out/in (length dependent weather) 

• Blanket changes

• Vet and farrier scheduling and booking

• Coordination of veterinary de-worming and maintenance programs

• Constant supervision (owner lives on property)

• Indoor arena available

• Trailering recommendations available 

 

Horses are turned out in small groups.
